Exciting news for “Archie” fans!  David Archuleta’s debut CD, David Archuleta, was released by retailers everywhere today. David Archuleta was well known for singing primarily ballads on Season 7 of American Idol but he says that in his debut album he will be offering more of a musical variety to fans.  David wants his fans and others to know that he has more of a variety to share with this album and one song even has a “reggae-ish feel to it.”

I voted for David Cook on the final Idol night, but I was still super impressed with Archuleta’s single, Crush, which went to number one on iTunes within 24 hours of its release.

The latest edition of ELLE Magazine features Carrie Underwood on the cover and there are pictures inside of many of the Season 7 finalists.  Carrie Underwood discusses the rumors surrounding her and Olympic winner, Michael Phelps, and says that she has never met him even though there have been rumors the two have been dating.  She tells ELLE that the rumors about the two of them being involved is a “fabricated lie that came out of nowhere”. 
 
In the same edition of ELLE, the Season 7 top 10 Idol finalists get a makeover!  You can see pictures and a lengthy spread of –Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, David Cook, David Archuleta, Jason Castro, Chikezie, Brooke White, Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, and Ramiele Malubay.

Season 7 American Idol runner-up, David Archuleta, is set to guest star on Nickelodeon’s popular children and teenager show, iCarly.  Just this week (October 2nd) David filmed his cameo appearance.  On the show, David will play a “fictional” version of himself where he will be on an American Idol like show.  Carly, played by Melinda Cosgrove, will promote Archuleta to get him votes on her online web show. The show is scheduled to air sometime in the spring.

David just finished filming the video for his popular song, Crush, and his album is scheduled to debut on November 11th. I believe that’s the same day David Cook’s album will be released.

David Archuleta wrote on his MySpace blog that he is saddened by the end of the Idols summer tour and the entire American Idol experience.  He says that it has been an “amazing year” and he can’t wait to see the direction of everyones careers now that the tour has come to an end.  David also writes that he is a big fan of all of his fellow tour buddies. 

David mentions that he is still working on songs for his debut album and that he thinks writing is “so much fun” and that there “are many different ways of doing it”. 

While I’m sure the end of the Idols tour will be sad for most of the Top 10, I bet some of them will be looking forward to getting some much needed rest.  They have been going nonstop ever since they appeared on American Idol.

There is a lot of exciting new CD & video information to report for the Season 7 Idol winner and contestants!  The Season 7 Idol winner, David Cook, will have his album released on November 18th.  That time can’t come soon enough for my littlg guy!  Time of My Life has already been a smash single for the new star.  David Cook will be promoting his album release by visiting Kansas City and 18 other cities.

Kristy Lee Cook’s album, Why Wait, was released today.  Hopefully for Kristy this album will be more successful than her last.

David Archuleta had his Crush video released today on iTunes.  This single is currently at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100. 

The American Idol summer tour for Season 7 will come to an end this weekend.  The Top 10 contestants have been kept busy all summer touring the country and they will each soon have the opportunity to pursue their own interests.

It is being reported  through “the grapevine” that David Archuleta’s new single, Crush, will debut at #2 on Billboard’s Hot 100 charts. The Season 7 American Idol runner-up has set some records with his new song.  Crush is the highest debuting song out of all American Idol contestants’ singles on the Hot 100 and it is the first song to debut as high as #2 on the Hot 100.

Congratulations, David!  Your fans are proud, I’m sure!
