The latest edition of ELLE Magazine features Carrie Underwood on the cover and there are pictures inside of many of the Season 7 finalists.  Carrie Underwood discusses the rumors surrounding her and Olympic winner, Michael Phelps, and says that she has never met him even though there have been rumors the two have been dating.  She tells ELLE that the rumors about the two of them being involved is a “fabricated lie that came out of nowhere”. 
 
In the same edition of ELLE, the Season 7 top 10 Idol finalists get a makeover!  You can see pictures and a lengthy spread of –Michael Johns, Carly Smithson, David Cook, David Archuleta, Jason Castro, Chikezie, Brooke White, Kristy Lee Cook, Syesha Mercado, and Ramiele Malubay.

David Cook’s new single, Light On, was released earlier this week and I love it!  Watch the video and let me know what you think!  The song was co-written by Chris Cornell, the lead singer and songwriter for Soundgarden and Audioslave. Light On will be the lead off single for Cook’s debut album that will be out in November.

I’m not surprised that Chris Cornell co-wrote a song for David’s album. Cook performed Chris Cornell’s version of Michael Jackson’s “Billie Jean” on Idol during Season 7. I was surprised when I first heard that Cook was going to sing Billie Jean on the Idol show but he rocked it out and did an excellent job. Cornell’s version is much better than Jackson’s.

American Idol winner, David Cook, continues to have a busy schedule as the most recently deemed Idol winner.  Cook will be the honored guest at the 79th annual Plaza Lighting Ceremony where his only role will be to switch on the lights.  That’s right!  Even though his latest single is called Lights On, David won’t actually be doing any singing - he will just be flipping on the lights. 

David Cook’s mother, Beth Foraker, works for KCP&L, who happens to be the longtime sponsor for the event.  Maybe mom got him this gig that involves absolutely no singing.  I wonder how much he will get paid for making an appearance and flipping a switch?

There is a lot of exciting new CD & video information to report for the Season 7 Idol winner and contestants!  The Season 7 Idol winner, David Cook, will have his album released on November 18th.  That time can’t come soon enough for my littlg guy!  Time of My Life has already been a smash single for the new star.  David Cook will be promoting his album release by visiting Kansas City and 18 other cities.

Kristy Lee Cook’s album, Why Wait, was released today.  Hopefully for Kristy this album will be more successful than her last.

David Archuleta had his Crush video released today on iTunes.  This single is currently at #32 on the Billboard Hot 100.

Now David Cook is asking all of his fans to help build his website. As reported on My Fox in Kansas City, David Cook says that he will be checking the David Cook Official website and that he will be interacting with his fans. 

Fans can be very active on the website by uploading  photos, send David Cook messages, and even find other Cook fans who live in your area.

Season 7 American Idol winner, David Cook, has launched his official website and he is now off of MySpace and into the big time with his site. 

On his new website, David  Cook offers a welcome message that his fans can watch.  You can also view the David Cook blogs, forums, latest updates, news and other happenings in the new star’s career and life. 

News on David Cook’s website about his album release states that it will be available on November 18th.

The American Idol summer tour for Season 7 will come to an end this weekend.  The Top 10 contestants have been kept busy all summer touring the country and they will each soon have the opportunity to pursue their own interests.

David Cook was the final guest on the season premiere of Oprah Winfrey today. He sang his popular hit single, Time Of My Life. My son and I are both huge David Cook fans and we can’t wait for the release of his album, which is due to come out sometime in November. 

Today’s Oprah Winfrey show, which was aired from Chicago Millenium Park, featured many of the USA Olympic Team.  Included were Michael Phelps, Dara Torres,  Shawn Johnson, Kobe Bryant, Nastia Liukin and more than 175 of the USA Olympic Team. 

It was great to see David Cook included as a part of this very special Oprah season premiere! 

I was thrilled when David Cook won Season 7 of American Idol. My son was having me vote for him all along. He wasn’t my favorite to begin with but as the season started to wind down and there were only five or six left, he started to grow on me…and in a good way!

David Cook’s single, The Time of My Life, has been a popular single and my son and I are impatiently waiting for his album to be debuted in November.

David Cook has many female fans in the 30 + age group (Cougars) that helped him win the title. David Archuleta, runner-up, had more teenage fans vote for him. Enjoy the video!
