For Ruben Studdard, the Tax Man Cometh
The Season 2 American Idol winner, “teddy bear” Ruben Studdard, allegedly owes $200,000 for unpaid income taxes. That is what is being reported by the Boston Herald. Apparently there has recently been liens placed against Studdard’s property by the state of Alabama and the government. The unpaid taxes date back to the years 2003 and 2005.
It is being further investigated to see if Studdard’s six-figure investment in a Birmingham, Alabama nightclub named after the singer will be affected as part of the property liens.
It doesn’t sound like good news for the newlywed (Ruben recently married in June of this year). Studdard is also planning to release another album later this year.
